// Baker Street Recordings Celebrate 5th Birthday with Remix Competition //
UK deep/tech house label Baker Street Recordings are getting ready to celebrate their 5 year anniversary at the end of 2011. To mark the occasion they are releasing an album of brand new, exclusive remixes of some of their stand out tracks. And to get the party started early they are launching a remix competition for up-and-coming producers to be featured on the album alongside the likes of Moodymanc, Justin Harris, Matt Prehn and Murray Richardson. Entries are being accepted for remixes of Matt Prehn and Marcia Alves’ track ‘Glow’ with one lucky winner having their remix included on the album and 10 runners up each receiving a copy of the album. Other remixers already confirmed for the project include San Laurentino, James Barrett, Michael McLardy, Peckos, Martijn, Ben Gomori and Murray Richardson.South Africa’s Matt Prehn has worked with Baker Street since 2009 when his Bang Bang collective kicked off the label’s series of digital releases with ‘Love Insurance’. He has also appeared as a solo artist with his ‘Roots EP’ in May 2010 and ‘Insomniac Oasis’ featuring the vocals of Marcia Alves in April 2011, from which remix competition track ‘Glow’ is taken.
Prehn’s Bang Bang project, a 3 piece band, has been turning heads for some time and drawing comparisons to the likes of Greenskeepers and Crazy P, as well as being highlighted as one of South Africa’s brightest talents by iDJ. They have released music on labels including Lost My Dog, Myna, Kolour, Blockhead, Candy Music and Eight Tracks. As a solo artist, his name is firmly on the rise as well thanks to releases on Onethirty, Headtunes and his own label Oh So Coy.
