// Deep Edition Recordings: TWENTY ELEVEN SAMPLER //
As Deep Edition Recordings gets ready to build on a stellar 2010 they will kick off the New Year with a five-track taster of what's to come from RJ Fletcher, Marc Vexar, Jesus Pablo & Di Riviera, Mile Grozdanovski and Nachtbraker. Never a label to be swayed by big names over music quality, their rise over the previous 6 months is best summed up by a quote received to a recent promo “I don’t know who these artists are but the music is dope!” All tracks contain the trademark Deep Edition sound – seriously hypnotic deep house grooves with just the right amount of funky and techy touches. Manchester based DJ/producer RJ Fletcher is a name Deep Edition followers will be familiar with thanks to his previous remixes on Martijn's Sweet Sound EP and the labels first ever release Late Groove EP. His When Sound Pretends track is just a taster for his forthcoming Blind Jazz EP. Marc Vexar's second appearance on the label shows a more laid back and deeper style. The Newcastle born DJ and producer now living in Australia has also featured on Boogs Music and is one to watch in 2011 as he picks up ideas, rhythms and sounds whist on his travels around the world.
Jesus Pablo & Di Riviera make their Deep Edition debut, the Liverpool based pair have previously featured on Celestial Recordings, Cubism, BMslim and Crossword Records, gaining serious attention as 2010 closed out, and set to shine in 2011. Mile Grozdanovski is another new name for the label, hailing from Macedonia. Having previously featured on Tokyo Red Recordings under the name Mile, his music can also be found on Époque Music and Excel Recordings. Maurits Verwoerd aka Nachtbraker from Amsterdam is the third debut artist on this sampler continuing the labels desire to find new and exciting talent to feature on the label.
Early 2011 will see Riffraff and Zoo Project’s Lee Pennington & Guthrie on Deep Edition with their debut EP, an outstanding 5 track EP from Remote People, and of course RJ Fletcher’s first solo appearance after featuring heavily through the first 5 releases. Also in the pipeline will be the long awaited solo EP from Steve SoulBasics an EP from Label Head Martijn and a two tracker from Baker Streets Michael McLardy - it looks set to be a great year for Deep Edition's blend of deepness.
