// Fred Everything - 5 years of Lazy Days - release & Exclusive interview //

WFred-Everything-Lazy-Dayz-Recordingsith countless Fred Everything and Lazy Days releases scattered through the wall of vinyl behind me here atlazy-days-recordings-logo soundcanvas towers, It's been an honor to chuck a few questions at Fred Everything. One of Deep Soulful and Dubby House music's most prolific offenders where high end House music is concerned, We caught up with Fred ahead of his '5 Years of Lazy Days' release out 18/04/2011 (Review and previews here). Ladies and Gents. .  I give you, Mr Fred Everything... OK, so lets kick off with a tune. . . what’s your favorite track from the album and why? They all are, which is why they all ended up on there. I chose the ones that were closer to my heart rather than the most successful releases to date.

Fred, Tea or Coffee? Orange Juice.

You have championed so much good music through to 00's and much of it sits on the vinyl rack here behind me! Lazy days has always been a shinning beacon representing, solid high quality house music, but whats your personal favorite lazy days release to date? First of all thank you! I don't have a favorite release but I'm really happy with the anniversary one. Great to have heroes of mine : Crazy P, Art Of Tones, Greg Wilson and Ian Pooley to remix a track from the catalog.

We SCM fellows do like to shake a tail feather on dance floors across the world, but sadly none of us here at SCM have had the pleasure of partying Montreal style. . . what are we missing, should we book flights and can we stay at your house? You could but I haven't lived there in almost 4 years now. I'm temporarily based in San Francisco for a while now. I do go back to Montreal a lot. It's fun to go back as a visitor. I know I will be back there at some point soon as it is my home. I'd say, go to Salon Daome, intimate place where I've been doing nights for almost 10 years now.

Silk City (Fred Everything Lazy Vox) Pfft. . . brilliant. . . (this chair is actually gonna break if I rock back and forth any more vigorously) . . . discuss. . I was lucky to get this one from Kruse & Nuernberg. I think its their best work yet, most original for sure too. I wanted Andre Lodemann to remix it but time wasn't on our side so I took a shot at the remix and I'm pretty happy of the results.

Industry heads up time please Fred, who should we be keeping an ear to the ground for in the coming year production Wise? On the label, after the Kruse & Nuernberg release, there's a new Lance DeSardi. Classic Deep House release. There's also a new one from Atnarko feat. Sam Mollison who used to sing with Sasha (Magic). Remixes by Peter Christianson and Pezzner on that one and hopefully a new Ep from me soon! On my own, I have a new ep under Frederico Todos out on Urban Torque soon with remixes from Matthias Vogt. New remixes, vinyl only, of Dennis Ferrer "Dem People Go". I'm also releasing a sample pack for Loopmasters in April.

So the earth is just about to explode (could happen), you have time to retrieve 3 pieces of prized vinyl to take into your emergency evacuation vessel, what records would they be? Ron & Chez - The Choice (Prescription), New Order - Blue Monday, Crustation - The Flame (Mood 2 Swing Dub)

We hear there is talk of a fresh full studio album being baked in your musical kitchen, is this so and can we expect this to be served up on the mighty Lazy Dayssplatter with crisp side salad? I'm not able to tell yet as I'm still in full experimentation mode. Want to move away from what I've already done. Funny enough, this is when I end up getting closer to my original musical home. I also want to start releasing some artist albums in a near future on Lazy Days…who's gonna be the first one?

Angry Birds - Iphone 4 - Level 5, screen 12-8 been stuck on it a day and a half now, its not even funny . . any ideas? If you have an angry bird at home, go to the pub. Just saying'...

Album Summary, 5 words or less? Get it now, ok?
