// Interview with Baker Street Recordings Paul Hardy //

Following the release of the Baker Street 5th Anniversary album mixed by Paul Hardy & McKai, we managed to snare the label boss for a quick natter over a cup of rosie and a lemon drizzle slice... OK, so lets kick off with a tune. . . what’s your favorite track/s from the compilation and why?

One of my favorites of the album has to be the Sasse remix of Ninja Slipper, the emotion within that track is fantastic. Such a great rework.

Which fledgling producer/s should we be keeping an ear out for in the near future?

Michael Mclardy is one to watch, pure deep house goodness.

Reaching the 5 year milestone and establishing a label of such calibre is an amazing achievement in the current climate, what two critical pieces of advice would you pass on to aspiring label heads?

Do it for the Love, if you are looking for profits don’t bother. Use your label to support your production, DJ aspirations, they all work for each other.

If we could take care of all your commitments and gave you unlimited funds, what would you do this weekend?

Private Jet, All my friends, Big Hotel, Sonar!!

Do you suffer from producers block, if so do you have any tips to overcome it?

Create something totally different, If you get stuck look to create totally different genres, buy and listen to other styles, look at instruments, sounds and arrangements, hopefully this will take you away from your usual methods and you may learn something new.

What is your guilty pleasure?

KFC

If you could choose a superpower what would it be? We're out of stock of the 'flying' power by the way...

Time Travel, see the future and learn from the past

Tell us 2 random totally non-music related things about you right now.

I’m also FD for a Scaffolding Company and MD for a Utility Company and a Charity Who would win in a dust up: Ed Milliband or David Cameron?

Politics drives me up the wall, how these people get away with whatthey do is unbelievable, I could go on and on. Fight to the death the winner then gets to fight a lion.

If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

Welcome!
