Various Artists 'Natural Selection EP' Pole Position Recordings - Out 17th Jan 1011

natural-selection-ep-pole-positionNatural Selection EP’ is the fifth release on the recently launchedPole Position Recordings from Cardiff (UK).   The label has so far covered a broad range of house music and now deliver a four track various artist EP focused on deep and tech styles.  Michael McLardy, Two 4House, Billy Goat & Christian Priess and Xiasou all feature, making the EP a Europe-wide affair and setting up Pole Position perfectly for a big 2011. Preview: Natural Selection EP - Released 17-JAN-2011 by Pole Position Recordings German born Xiasou (Alexandros Akritopoulos) now lives in Greece from where he runs and owns Santos Recordings. His previous releases have featured on This Side Music and Santos and following ‘Defected’ he has more tracks due on Pole Position.

Christian Priess and Billy Goat are inherent part of the house and electro scene in North Rhine-Westphalia and the Netherlands, with their sights firmly set on the global audience. Having met in Cologne three years ago the pair developed a professional relationship, working across the west of Germany, significantly at ‘Loveparade’and ‘Ruhe’. The pair’s debut release was ‘Sick Groove’ on PR Underground.

This is the very first project for Dave Taylor (aka SoulDeep Inc.) and DJ Tony Cannon under the guise of Two 4House. Both hail from the north west of England and have been mates since the days of Wings, Mud and Birmingham bags, and DJ’d through the acid house boom of 1989 supporting the likes of 808 State, A Called Gerald and the one and only Mr Marshall Jefferson. Tony has had releases on the Muzak label in Italy and is soon to have another on Electric Sheep Records. Dave's latest has been signed to New York labelSoulshift Records.

Michael McLardy’s debut on Pole Position comes having recently featured on Baker Street, 22 Digit, Clean Recordings, Save You, Dot Dot Records and Pete Dafeet’s Southside Shuffle. Having begun his career as a DJ and promoter in Sunderland, McLardy later moved to Nottingham where he continued to arrange parties and events, before picking up bookings all around the UK. He describes his style as “minimal, deep and tech-house, and anything in between with a solid groove”. He’ll return to Pole Position in the New Year with a four track EP of his own.
