// Cocoon Heroes – Amnesia – Ibiza //
So here we are again at our favourite party in our favourite club on the wrong side of a 5 day tear up. Some of us seem to be wilting a little so we all rally together and put the graft into what will be our last blow out before jetting back to the horrible reality that is home. The entertainment for the evening is Sven Vath and Frankfurt's Christian Burkhardt (Live) in the main room whilst Marco Carola, Sascha Dive and Chris Tietjen plan to smash the terrace. We get to Amnesia early and all shimmy together to the bar in the main room for a chilled alcoholic beverage and to appreciate the space and cool temperature while it lasts. Sven is laying down some nice deep techy house grooves and it's not long before we all go our seperate ways and indulge in what is going to be an epic and powerful event.
I wander off in my usual manner investigating every nook and cranny the terrace has to offer. There are amazing looking women everywhere and if your into guys I'd say they were'nt that shabby either. The room is is beginning to fill at a rapid rate so I drop a shoulder to get some space and a fresh beverage in the VIP area. I chill on the mezzanine/balcony area and take in the view of the dancers who have just emerged in the main room with Sven still churning it out to the delight of the pulsating crowd. I glide back over to the terrace and look out across the larger oblong space, the jelly fish floating from the ceiling steel work whilst the driving techno sound really begins to pick up momentum. I'm not sure who has control of the turntables but they're making me want to leave the to cool for school vibe of the VIP and head into the dance floor while it's still physically possible.
Next thing I know I'm in the middle of the floor in front of the DJ booth getting ice cannoned every ten or fifteen minutes or so with every crazy break and drop in what I can only describe as the best music and atmosphere I have experienced over the last week. I'm wondering what the bloody time is and how long I have absent from the group. I turn and ask an absolute doll if she has the time, she gives me a big gorgeous grin and shows my her watch... I decide to make a break for the perimeter and search for my pals.
I find a couple of the boys having a quite word with themselves in a dark corner at the back of the room. We make our way up the stairs past the toilets and along to the top balcony to seek air con and sanity. We look out over the dance floor and the gaff is absolutely having it proper, the crowd look like techno zombies and Marco Carola is catergorically smashing it up. We stay on the balcony because I swear I am physically over heating. I have been dancing for about 7 hours solid! When the room lights up at the end my attention turns to getting the hell out of there...what a night though, the best party on the island by far.
