// Lost My Dog: BANG BANG, RHYTHM PLATE, NACHO MARCO //
Cape Town three-piece band Bang Bang are back for their second single on Lost My Dog. Since the release of ‘Broken’ in January of this year they have continued to attract interest, with iDJ highlighting them as one of South Africa’s brightest talents and DMC Update comparing them to the likes of Crazy P, Greenskeepers and 2020 Soundsystem, due to their fusion of live instrumentation, vocals and a band mentality, underpinned by a house music background. New single ‘Susan Cries’ once again displays their skill at delivering captivating lyrics complemented by intelligent production. Lost My Dog have enlisted an exciting and diverse set of remixers – Rhythm Plate, Nacho Marco and Off The Cuff - to give their own spin on things. Bang Bang are the trio of Matt Prehn, Matthew Loots and vocalist Ruegroove who have released their signature sound on various underground labels including Myna, Baker Street, Blockhead, Candy Music and Eighth Dimension. Matt Prehn can also be found as a solo artist on a range of labels including his own Oh So Coy and More Music imprints.
Rhythm Plate make a long overdue return to Lost My Dog. In fact it’s over four years since they remixed Pete Dafeet’s ‘Love Undercover’. In the interim period they have released music via their Yse and Bleep District projects but the time was right for a resurrection and the results are definitely worth the wait. They have also recently remixed LawnChair Generals and Alexander East and a cheeky bootleg of Mark Ronson is causing quite a stir across online blogs.
Nacho Marco from Valencia, Spain, is Loudeast Records´ boss, artist of Freerange, Pacha and OM Records, remixer of Shakira, Fangoria, and Groove Armada, the impressive list goes on and on. He is also a resident DJ at the ground-breaking and cutting edge Sonar festival.
Off The Cuff hail from Middlesbrough in the UK, one-time home to the nomadic Lost My Dog. The trio of Karl Frampton, Simon Lilleker and Andy Martin have released music for Soulfuric, Silocasa, Sidetrak and Azucar.
