// Phil Weeks presents Underground Chronicles - Robsoul Recordings - Release 22-08-11 //

As Robsoul Recordings stands on the brink of its 100th release, label boss Phil Weeks reflects on his imprint’s 11-year history with a selection of his favourite tracks from the remarkable catalogue. The 30 track ‘Underground Chronicles’ will be released across three volumes over the summer months. Featuring regular Robsoul contributors like DJ Sneak, Joss Moog, Chris Carrier, Hector Moralez, DJ W!LD and of course Phil Weeks himself, alongside less frequent visitors including Mark Farina, The Renegade Gardener and Kreon, the project is a true reflection of the breadth and depth of Robsoul, seen through the eyes of it’s founder and main man. Robsoul and Phil Weeks have carved their own niche since the turn of the century and become a real go-to label for any serious house fan. Along the way the label has crafted a distinct sound and become a benchmark for underground house music oozing funk, unashamedly influenced by the sounds of Chicago but with it’s own raw, gritty twist.

Since 2000 Phil Weeks has released his unique brand of house music on some of the world’s leading underground labels including 2020 Vision, Music For Freaks, Brique Rouge, Detour, Adult Only and his own Robsoul, which is responsible for the majority of his original output. He has also graced more mainstream imprints along the way such as Cr2 and Toolroom, is one half of renowned duo Fries & Bridges with Hector Moralez and regularly collaborates with DJ Sneak. Earlier in 2011 his second album ‘Love Affair’ was a huge success with DJs, press and record buyers alike, cementing his reputation as one of the major players in worldwide underground house music. His rise as a hotly in-demand international DJ has matched his production career and sees him travelling Europe, North America and further afield every weekend.
