// Tom Taylor & Gareth Whitehead - Love Tip EP - Lost My Dog //

What's it all about?‘Love Tip EP’ marks the second appearance in as many months for Gareth Whitehead on Lost My Dog. Following his recent collaboration with Random Factor, the Glasgow based DJ/producer now joins another 2020 Vision artist Tom Taylor (aka one half of The Electric Press).  A pair of original tracks are remixed by Lost My Dog friends old and new – Robsoul boss Phil Weeks notches up his third remix on ‘On A Tip’, while newcomer Howard Sessions and LMD chief hound catcher Pete Dafeet each tackle ‘One Love’.

What does it sound like? ‘One Love’ goes deep and meanders around classic pianos, subtle strings and a brief female vocal.  Dafeet gets all chunky and Howard emphasises the piano.  ‘On A Tip’ is a more techy affair with pulsing synths over bubbling bass.  Phil Weeks jacks the beat over a throbbing bass-driven groove.

Who's involved? Tom Taylor and his label 2Pin Records build on the success he found as one half of The Electric Press. He holds a wealth of accolades most producers would kill for including the hit ‘Reevaluate’ on 2020 Vision and remixes of Daft Punk, Kelis, Erykah Baduh, Armand Van Helden and DJ T.  Recent work has seen him release under the funk inspired guise Celestial as well as deeper house moments under his own name supported by the likes of Steve Bug, Josh Wink and Ben Watt.

Gareth Whitehead is a vastly experienced producer, engineer, DJ and artist who has established his own signature brand of deep, dubby tech-house and minimal.  As a label owner he set up techno label Edit/Select with Soma legend Percy X and in 2007 established his own Bulletdodge Records.  Gareth has released music on labels such as Naked Lunch, Parallel 125 and Safari Numerique, receiving support from the likes of Joris Voorn, Slam, Anja Schneider and Ricardo Villalobos.

Phil Weeks needs little introduction – with more than 10 years and 100 releases on his Robsoul label, the Parisian is part of the fabric of underground house music.  Similarly, Lost My Dog’s own Pete Dafeet has been doing it for some time now on his own label and further afield for Toolroom, Detour and Shaboom.  Leeds resident Howard Sessions recently debuted on Lost My Dog with 'Meddlin' With Me Melody' and the next LMD release will see him collaborate with KT Forrester and Mike Richardson on the vocal-led 'Looking Back'.  Howard can also be found on Kolour, 3am and Re:tweak Records.
